According to new research findings, published in the February 7 edition of the journal Nature Medicine, the hormone serotonin can potentially for treating osteoporosis, bone thinning disease (porous bone).
Researchers at Columbia University Medical Center have found that an experimental drug called LP533401 can play a vital in inhibiting the production of serotonin, a natural chemical in the gut associated with mood related brain.

Experiments conducted on rats and mice with LP533401, the researchers found that the drug of serotonin synthesis effectively treat osteoporosis in animals.
